As Seattle lawyer for over 20 years and a Judge Pro Tem for 5, Willie Gregory has earned his reputation as a fair jurist, respected by defense attorneys, prosecutors, clients, judges, and court staff.  Now, Willie needs your support to elect him to the Seattle Municipal Court.

WILLIE IS ETHICAL – His goal is to do the right thing in all circumstances.  He adheres to the highest standards of personal and professional conduct and will bring his strong ethical principles to the judicial bench.

WILLIE IS FAIR – He is passionate about the rule of law and equal justice for all.

WILLIE IS COMPASSIONATE – He believes that “a judge is often the first line of defense in diverting minor offenders away from committing more serious crimes.”  His goal is to protect our community by providing strong incentives for young and first-time offenders to redirect their lives, and to save taxpayer dollars by utilizing creative judicial solutions to persistent societal problems.     

WILLIE IS DEDICATED TO THE COMMUNITY – Willie began his legal career by helping people who could not afford a lawyer, interning with Seattle Catholic Community Services and Evergreen Legal Services.  He worked for 14 years with the Associated Counsel for the Accused and sat on its Board of Directors from 2003-2008.  He currently teaches at the University of Washington Law School, serving as mentor and role model to aspiring attorneys.  He was honored by the King County Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Society in 2006 for his exemplary mentoring. 

WILLIE IS EXPERIENCED – As a military police officer in the early 80’s he developed leadership skills and an interest in the Uniform Code of Military Justice.  Since then, in a diverse legal career spanning 20 years, he has served with distinction as trial attorney, pro-tem judge, manager, teacher, mentor and community advocate.  He has participated in over 100 trials and court hearings in Seattle alone.  

WILLIE IS EXCEPTIONALLY WELL QUALIFIED AND HARD WORKING – He knows the law.  As an undergraduate at the University of Arizona, he was a founding member of the local chapter of Phi Alpha Delta, an international law fraternity.  He received his J.D. degree from Seattle University School of Law (then known as the University of Puget Sound Law School) and has immersed himself in the field he loves for two decades.  For the past five years he has proven his aptitude as a judge by hearing hundreds of cases when called to serve in a “pro-tem” capacity.
